Bone Symphony - One Foot In Front of the Other - 1984

From the movie Revenge of The Nerds The eponymous 1983 Bone Symphony EP (Capitol Records) was their first and only album.

Songs from the EP are really good. I like this song but the video is in Mono - it plays in 1 speaker.

Hilary - Kinetic - 1982

Early 80's New wave. She didn't have very many releases but her first single, "Kinetic" did pretty well. I read somewhere she passed away a couple years ago. Found a website on her, here.

here is a good remix

Little Nemo - City Lights (Long Way) - 1989

One of the best French Coldwave artist I've heard in a long time. You can read more about them on wikipedia, I imagine their album is very hard to find.

PETE SHELLEY - TELEPHONE OPERATOR - 1983

From Pete's 5th solo album album "XL1". Probably his most popular album besides "Homosapien" which was a big hit for Pete in 1981. Hopefully you know Pete is originally from the Buzzcocks.

Wa Wa Nee - Stimulation (1986)

Came across this band via one of my friends on Facebook. This band is from Australia. Very pop, new wave, funk. It's a fun tune. Not a popular tune in the US, I had never heard of them before. Australia had some fun bands.

Sideway Look - Unlock the Capital - 1988

I had another album by this band that I didn't like as much but this song is a winner. Not sure where this band is from but they are worth getting into.

The Twins - Face to Face (Heart to Heart) - 1982

Found this band on a blog so I looked up to see if they had a video. They're a German synthpop band from the 80s. Great stuff.

Chalk Circle - April Fool - 1986

One of the best underrated bands ever. They are like the Canadian Tears for Fears. Since today is April 1st here is "April Fool"

Oingo Boingo - Same Man I Was Before - 1985

From their classic album "Dead Man's Party" this song goes under the radar for most. I just heard it again in this movie I was watching My Best Friend is a Vampire. I love their stuff and this song is another reason why. Too bad they never made a video for this song.

Roxy Music - Angel Eyes - 1979

I am bit behind, meant to post this the same time I did on Facebook but I forgot. Love this song, it's almost sort of disco but you can tell New wave could come from this song. I love Roxy and Bryan in the 80's especially. I am not as big of a fan of the early stuff with Eno. Sorry Eno. When Bryan also worked with David Gilmour, awesome!

Cetu Javu - Situations - 1988

I can not find this mix anywhere but on Youtube. I found a close one but I love this mix the most. Sounds a lot like New Order to me. German band.

It isn't embedded, darn.

Wire Train - Chamber of Hellos - 1984

San Fran band's first release. Sort of post punk, some may call them Dark wave too. *And I didn't mean to post this after I posted Wire but I saw Sirius played them. They were another band I found that I never got around to posting. Found their vinyl records a few months ago. Their 2nd album "Between Two Words" is really good too.

Here is another video that is from the same year, better quality too.

Wire - Ahead - 1987

Wire was a punk band from the late 70's but released this song in the 80's. A little less punk, more pop, but I think it just sounds more like Post punk.

Gang of Four - Is it Love - 1983

Known mainly for indie punk songs but here is a slightly pop new wave song. Very cooL!

The Normal - Warm Leatherette - 1978

The start of new wave. Daniel Miller, the founder of Mute Records. He only released this song and another on 7" vinyl. Daniel also produced Depeche Mode, Erasure, Wire, and DAF. This is a classic song.

Remain in Silence - Roses on my Dying Bed - 1987

One of the most amazing songs ever. Enough said.

The Mission UK - Severina - 1987

Such a classic song to me. It never gets old and just a great song. I know "Wasteland" is their more popular song but I love this song a lot more. Sounds even better live in this video.

Kirlian Camera - Blue Room - 1983

Felt like posting a favorite today. It's a dark coldwave song from Kirlian Camera. They are still together except I think there is a new singer. I am really only a fan of the 80's stuff. They are an Italian band, I can't think of very many bands that are.

Boys Don't Cry - Cities on Fire - 1986

For some reason I never liked their song "I Wanna Be a Cowboy" but I found two other songs I like better, "Cities on Fire" and "Lipstick". British band that DID NOT get their name from The Cure but people always thought so. They got it from a line in a 10CC song actually. Funny. They even had a song called The Cure as a B Side on a single as a joke.

Boys Don't Cry - Lipstick - 1987

Ward Brothers - Why Do You Run - 1987

Here is another record I found early this month. British band that had another song in Miami Vice. Basically No hit wonders but a great find. It's amazing how many bands from the 80's there were that were good but not popular. This song is from their album "The Madness Of it All". I like this video. I can't think of any video where the band is on a train, love it.

Toyah - I Want To Be Free - 1981

I've fallen behind since I haven't been feeling well. I am now catching up on some of my vinyl listening. Found Toyah on Vinyl a while ago. She sounds a lot like Lene Lovich. She definitely has a similar sound to her and the second song on the record sounds like Siouxsie.

INXS - Spy of Love

Today is Michael Hutchence's 50th Birthday. Shabooh Shoobah is my favorite INXS album, I did some long hard thinking and decided this a while back. I am a huge fan and I love all their albums, yes, even the 90's releases. So here is "Spy of Love" LIVE, which they were the best band live. R.I.P. Michael. MH4EVER!

Kas Product - Never Come Back

French Coldwave from 1982. I think this girl said Everyday is Halloween before Ministry. They probably stole it from Kas Product. This song is a lot of fun.

INXS - Do Wot You Do

This is from the Pretty in Pink soundtrack. You can hear the song during an early scene where they are hanging out in the record store. This is my favorite of the John Hughes movies. I liked the fact she worked in a record store since I was a record store geek for 5 years at Tower and own my own store for a year. Plus it's the best soundtrack. INXS, The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen. A must have.

Cameraface - The Bite of Love

A friend just told me about this band. It's new to me so I don't have much to say about them but I look forward to hearing their other stuff. This video was actually played on MTV in 1989.

Nomo - Red Lipstick

I picked up their record last night called "The Great Unknown". 1985 New Wave. They are an American band. The singer now lives in L.A. They have a song written by Andy Summer from The Police. Red Lipstick was written by Michael Sembello who has written a ton of songs for people. Most famous for "Maniac" from Flashdance.
